Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks
Box OED

· Change of Address requests may not be made by a third party (such as secretaries or administrative assistants)

· Each registered Attorney or Agent named in the change of address must sign the change of address request.

NOTE: Changes to the roster available on the PTO Internet web site may take several weeks to be posted. For you convenience, please use a change of address form to change your address.

Name Changes

If you desire to inform the Office of Enrollment and Discipline of a change to your legal name and change your name on the roster records, you must provide appropriate marriage certification or court documents authorizing your new legal name.

Registration Status Changes (Agent to Attorney)

Individuals that are registered initially as a Patent Agent may later become registered as an Attorney upon becoming an Attorney. To change your registration status:

Notice of Receipt by OED

Individuals who wish to receive an acknowledgment of the receipt of documents mailed to OED should include a self-addressed, postage-paid postcard to be used for this purpose.

The postcard should be addressed to you and identify each type of paper filed.
